【전북교육신문】전북특별자치도와 남원시가 도내 주요 대형병원들과 손잡고 국립의학전문대학원(이하 국립의전원)의 남원 설립과 안정적 운영을 위한 본격적인 행보에 나섰다.
도는 28일 도청에서 남원시, 전북대학교병원, 원광대학교병원, 예수병원, 남원의료원과 ‘국립의학전문대학원 설립·운영 지원을 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다.
이날 협약식에는 6개 기관 대표인 이원택 전북자치도지사와 양충모 남원시장, 양종철 전북대학교병원장, 서일영 원광대학교병원장, 신충식 예수병원장, 오진규 남원의료원장이 참석해 국립의전원의 남원 설립에 한 뜻을 모았다.
이번 협약은 국립의전원의 설립 기반을 조기에 다지고, 앞으로 배출될 공공의료 인력에게 도내 최고 수준의 임상 실습·수련 환경을 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에 따라 각 기관은 ▲국립의전원 설립 및 안정적 운영 지원 ▲교육에 필요한 우수 인력 분야 협력 ▲임상 교육·실습 및 의료자원 연계 ▲그 밖에 국립의전원 발전과 공공의료 강화를 위해 필요하다고 인정되는 사항 등에 협력하기로 했다.
또 협약이 일회성 행사에 머물지 않고 실질적인 성과로 이어지도록 기관별 실무책임자로 구성된 ‘실무협의회’를 설치해 운영한다. 실무협의회는 교육과정 설계 지원, 교수진·전문 인력 교류, 임상실습 프로그램 개발, 의료 장비·시설 공동 활용 등 세부 방안을 논의하고 실행에 옮겨 나갈 방침이다.
설립 초기에는 인프라와 역량이 검증된 도내 대형병원을 중심으로 교육의 안정성과 신뢰성을 확보하고, 이후 운영 경과와 성과에 따라 도내·외 다른 의료기관으로 협력 네트워크를 단계적으로 넓혀 나갈 계획이다.
국립 상급종합병원인 전북대학교병원과 사립 상급종합병원인 원광대학교병원, 지역 거점 종합병원인 예수병원, 지역 공공의료의 한 축인 남원의료원 등 각 분야에서 탁월한 의료 역량을 인정받은 기관들이 힘을 모은 만큼, 선제적으로 협력체계를 갖추고 국립의전원의 교육·임상 인프라도 탄탄해질 것으로 기대된다.

Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Namwon City have embarked on a full-fledged effort to establish and stably operate the National Medical University (hereinafter referred to as the National Medical University) in Namwon, in collaboration with major hospitals in the province.
