설치미술가 정하영의 개인전 이 23일부터 5월 3일까지 서울 종로구에 위치한 전북도립미술관 서울분관에서 대관전으로 열린다.
정하영(1975~ ) 작가는 천, 케이블타이 등 일상적 재료를 활용한 설치 작업을 통해 보이지 않는 노동과 억압된 삶의 흔적을 가시화해 온 작가이다. 개인의 경험에서 출발한 서사를 사회적 맥락으로 확장하며, 사회적 관계 속에서 드러나는 취약성과 연대의 가능성을 탐구한다.

특히 이번 작업은 이전 작업의 연장선에서, 육각형 구조로 연결된 형상을 통해 여성과 취약한 존재들의 관계를 시각화한다. 작가의 육각형은 모난 삼각형이 맞닿아 안정적인 구조를 이루고 완충작용을 하는 형상으로 연대의 힘을 상징한다. 이를 바탕으로 ‘함께-되기’라는 추상적인 개념을 ‘상호 돌봄’이라는 실천적 가치로 풀어내며, 돌봄을 일방적인 행위가 아닌 서로를 지지하는 관계로 확장한다. 또한 여성의 몸과 보이지 않는 반복된 노동을 분절과 복제를 통해 드러내며, 개인의 경험을 관계 속에서 다시 연결하려는 시도를 보여준다.
정하영 작가는 전북대학교 미술학과 한국화 전공 학사를 졸업하고, 동 대학원 미술학과에서 조소 전공 석사 학위를 취득했다. 국내외 단체전 50여회와 13회의 프로젝트에 참여하며 활발한 작품 활동을 이어가고 있다.

Jung Ha-young graduated from Jeonbuk University with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Korean painting, and obtained a Master's degree in sculpture from the same university's Graduate School of Fine Arts. She has been actively engaged in artistic activities, participating in over 50 group exhibitions domestically and internationally, as well as 13 projects.
