전북교육청과 전북도청이 교육발전특구 시범사업의 내실화를 위해 11개 시군을 대상으로 합동 현장 방문에 나선다.
전북교육청은 교육발전특구 시범사업 3년 차를 맞아 5월 11일부터 6월 17일까지 전북도청과 함께 시범지역 현장을 방문한다고 밝혔다.
전북에서는 2024년 교육부 공모를 통해 모두 11개 시군이 교육발전특구 시범지역으로 선정돼 운영 중이다.
이번 현장 방문은 지역별 사업 추진 상황을 점검하고, 현장의 애로사항과 의견을 정책에 반영하기 위해 마련됐다. 도교육청과 도청은 현장 의견을 바탕으로 교육 혁신 과제를 공동 발굴하고 정책화할 계획이다.
첫 방문지는 익산교육발전특구로, 익산은 교육지원청과 지자체, 지역 대학이 협력하는 지역 밀착형 교육 모델을 운영하고 있다. 교육공동체지원센터를 중심으로 방과후, AI, 치유회복 프로그램 등을 추진하며 지역 특성에 맞는 교육생태계를 구축하고 있다.
양 기관은 14일 부안교육발전특구, 15일 남원교육발전특구를 차례로 방문할 예정이다.
전북교육청과 전북도는 이번 현장 방문을 통해 시범사업 성과를 종합적으로 점검하고, 향후 교육부 정식 지정을 이끌어낸다는 방침이다.
임경진 전북교육청 교육협력과장은 “11개 시군 모두에서 교육지원청과 지자체가 함께 참여하는 실무협의체를 운영하고 있다”며 “전북형 교육발전특구 모델을 성공적으로 안착시켜 아이들이 지역에서 배우고 정주할 수 있는 환경을 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
