【전북교육신문】전북특별자치도가 전주시와 함께 2026년 방위사업청 ‘방산혁신클러스터’ 공모에 최종 선정돼 미래 100년 먹거리로 꼽히는 방위산업의 기반을 마련했다.
방산혁신클러스터 사업은 지역 특화산업과 방위산업을 연결해 중소·벤처기업의 방산시장 진입을 돕고, 지역 중심의 방산 생태계를 키워 첨단 국방기술을 국산화하는 데 목적이 있다.
전북은 올 하반기부터 5년간 총 490억 원(국비 245억 원, 지방비 245억 원)을 들여 탄소복합재 중심의 국방 첨단복합소재 분야 연구개발과 인프라를 갖춘다. 이를 발판으로 국내 유일의 소재·부품 공급망 거점으로 올라설 것으로 기대된다.

North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province, along with Jeonju City, has been selected as the final winner in the 2026 Defense Acquisition Program Agency's "Defense Innovation Cluster" competition, establishing the foundation of the defense industry, which is considered a future food source for the next 100 years.
