전북특별자치도가 20일 도청에서 전북대학교, 현대자동차와 지역 성장엔진 분야 핵심 인재 양성을 위한 업무협약을 체결하고 관련 인재 육성 체계 마련에 본격 나섰다.
이날 협약식에는 이원택 전북자치도지사와 양오봉 전북대학교 총장, 신승규 현대자동차 부사장이 참석했다. 이들은 지역 성장엔진 산업과 교육·연구를 잇는 협력체계를 갖추고 인재를 선제적으로 길러내 정주로 이어지는 선순환 구조를 만들기로 약속했다.
협약을 통해 세 기관은 ▲피지컬 AI·로봇, 에너지 등 첨단산업 분야 교육·연구 협력 기반 조성 ▲현대차 수요 기반 계약학과 설치·운영 ▲기술협력 포럼을 중심으로 한 공동연구과제 발굴·수행 등에 적극 협력하기로 했다. 계약학과 이수 학생의 채용 연계는 향후 사업 전개 상황 등을 고려해 별도로 정할 예정이다.
도는 이번 두 협약을 계기로 새만금 개발과 성장엔진산업 육성이 본격화하는 시점에 산업 현장과 대학의 연결 고리가 단단해지고, 지역에서 공부한 청년들이 전북의 미래를 이끌 핵심 인재로 성장해 지역에 정착할 수 있는 토대가 마련될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
