Local governments from around the world, domestic and international scholars, and global tourism experts gathered in Jeonju to explore the future strategies of a global tourism city.
Jeonju City announced on the 15th that it will host the "2026 Jeonju Future City Forum" for two days from the 17th to the 18th at locations including the La Han Hotel and the National Intangible Heritage Center in Jeonju.
Organized by Jeonju City and sponsored by the UCLG ASPAC (United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific), EU International Urban Cooperation Program (IURC), and CITYNET, this forum is in its fourth year.

Session 4, "Night Tourism: A New Brand of Urban Vitality," will feature European cities sharing policies and cases of night tourism, including examples from Genoa, Italy, and Braga, Portugal.
The final session, Session 5, "Smart Tourism: A Sustainable Future Created by People and Technology," will be held in collaboration with the EU IURC network, featuring keynote speakers and case studies from partner cities.
Through this forum, Jeonju City aims to share global trends in urban tourism with city officials and experts worldwide, as well as solidify Jeonju's future tourism vision. The city plans to develop the forum into a platform that promotes city innovation and international exchange, enhancing Jeonju's global city competitiveness.
