【전북교육신문】전주지역 자원봉사자들이 버려지는 현수막으로 가방을 만들어 전주지역 작은도서관에 기증했다.
사단법인 전주시자원봉사센터는 13일 평화꿈틀작은도서관에서 폐현수막을 활용한 자원재순환 용품 전달식을 가졌다.
이 자리에서 (사)전주시자원봉사센터 소속 ‘알뜰맘 재봉틀봉사단’(회장 임소형)은 회원들이 직접 정성 들여 제작한 ‘도서대여용 가방’ 100개를 기부했다.
봉사단원들은 한번 쓰고 버려지는 폐현수막을 수거·재단해 튼튼하고 실용적인 가방으로 재탄생시킴으로써 환경보호와 탄소중립을 몸소 실천했다.
특히 이번 행사는 버려지는 폐현수막을 재활용(업사이클링)함으로써 소각 시 발생하는 온실가스와 탄소 배출을 줄이고, 자원순환을 통해 친환경 나눔 문화를 확산시키기 위한 목적도 담고 있다.
제작된 가방은 전주시공립작은도서관운영협의회(회장 유진아)를 통해 전주지역 작은도서관으로 전달돼 지역 주민들의 일상 속 친환경 도서 대여용 가방으로 활용될 예정이다.
임소형 알뜰맘 재봉틀봉사단 회장은 “회원들과 함께 한땀 한땀 정성을 들여 만들 가방이 도서관과 지역 주민들에게 실질적인 도움이 되어 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 재봉틀봉사를 통해 환경도 지키고, 지역사회에 따뜻한 온기도 전하는 활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
