모집 인원은 우선지원대상자 20명과 일반지원대상자 100명 등 총 120명이며, 오는 27일까지 선착순으로 접수한다. 우선지원대상은 기초생활수급·장애인·다문화 가정, 2자녀 이상 다자녀 가정 학생이다.
신청은 무주군 화상영어 누리집을 통해 온라인으로 받는다. 선정된 학생은 3월부터 7월까지 4개월간 주 2~3회, 회당 20~30분씩 맞춤형 1대1 화상영어 수업을 컴퓨터나 모바일로 수강할 수 있다.
최성 무주군청 인구활력과 평생교육팀장은 “2017년 시작된 원어민 화상영어는 지금까지 1,300여 명이 참여해 영어 실력과 자신감을 키워왔다”며 “학부모 교육비 부담을 줄이고 세계화 역량을 기르는 데 도움이 될 것”이라고 말했다.
한편 무주군은 올해 학생 교육 지원에 총 24억여 원을 투입할 예정이며, 장학금 지급과 인재육성사관학교 입소, 인터넷강의 지원 등과 함께 교육발전특구 운영, 방과후·특기적성 교육, 글로벌 역사·문화 탐방 프로그램 등을 추진할 계획이다.

Muju County is launching a 'Native English Video Call Support Program' for elementary and middle school students in the region. The recruitment will include 20 priority applicants and 100 general applicants, totaling 120 students, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the 27th. He added, "This program will reduce the financial burden on parents for education expenses and help develop global competencies."
Furthermore, Muju County plans to invest over 24 billion won in student education support this year, including scholarships, admission to prestigious military academies, support for online courses, as well as initiatives such as operating educational development special zones, after-school and special talent education, and global history and culture exploration programs.
