전북교육청은 2026년 신학기를 앞두고 상반기 어린이놀이시설 안전 점검을 실시하고 있다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 도내 국·공·사립 유치원과 초등학교, 특수학교 등 1,042개소를 대상으로 2월 한 달간 진행된다. 안전 취약 시기 사고 예방 강화, 신속 보고 체계 확립과 위험 요인 제거, 노후·불량 놀이시설 중점 관리 등을 중심으로 점검해 위험 요소를 사전에 차단하고 재발을 방지하는 데 목적이 있다.
점검 결과 단순 조치 사항은 3월 개학 전까지 즉시 개선하고, 단기간 조치가 어려운 사안은 교육지원청과 협력해 조속히 보완할 계획이다.
앞서 도교육청은 2025년 안전 점검에서 지적된 92개 시설에 대한 시정 조치를 모두 완료했다.
장경단 학교안전과장은 “신학기가 시작되는 3월은 안전사고가 급증하는 시기”라며 “개학 전까지 시설물 정비를 철저히 마무리해 아이들이 안심하고 뛰어놀 수 있는 환경을 조성하겠다”고 말했다.
