현대미술의 거장으로 불리는 마르크 샤갈의 예술세계를 엿볼 수 있는 특별한 전시가 전주에서 열린다.

전주문화재단(대표이사 최락기)은 오는 10일부터 6월 21일까지 팔복예술공장 A동 2층 전시실과 이팝나무홀에서 세계적인 현대미술의 거장, 『마르크 샤갈展』을 개최한다.

이번 전시는 한불 수교 140주년을 기념하는 특별전이자, 지난 20년간 전북의 문화예술 발전을 견인해 온 전주문화재단의 설립 20주년을 축하하는 기획 전시다.

샤갈의 오리지널 판화, 유화, 드로잉 등 총 350여 점의 작품을 선보이는 이번 전시는 국내에서 열린 샤갈 전시 중 역대급 규모를 자랑한다.

전시는 ▲사랑을 노래하다 ▲환상의 세계에서 ▲신에게 다가가다 등 6개 섹션으로 구성돼 샤갈 특유의 서정성과 독창적 상징 체계를 깊이 있게 조명한다.

특히 오스트리아의 대표적 컬렉터인 한스-페터 하셀슈타이너(Hans-Peter Haselsteiner) 이사장이 소장한 ‘스트라바그 컬렉션’의 주요 샤갈 작품들이 국내 최초로 대거 공개돼 미술계의 이목이 쏠릴 전망이다.

최락기 전주문화재단 대표이사는 “가장 한국적인 도시 전주에서 세계적 거장 샤갈의 예술 세계를 마주하는 것은 매우 뜻깊은 경험이 될 것”이라며 “이번 전시가 프랑스와 한국 간 문화교류의 가치를 되새기고, 시민들에게는 수준 높은 문화 향유의 기회가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

A special exhibition where you can glimpse into the artistic world of Marc Chagall, known as a master of modern art, will be held in Jeonju.

The Jeonju Cultural Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi) will host the exhibition "Marc Chagall Exhibition," showcasing the works of the world-renowned master of modern art, from June 10 to June 21 at the Palbok Art Factory A Building 2nd floor exhibition hall and the Ipapnamu Hall.

This exhibition is a special exhibition commemorating the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, as well as celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Jeonju Cultural Foundation, which has been leading the cultural and artistic development of Jeollabuk Province for the past 20 years.

Featuring a total of around 350 original prints, oil paintings, drawings, and more by Chagall, this exhibition boasts one of the largest scales ever seen in a Chagall exhibition in Korea.

The exhibition is divided into six sections, such as "Singing Love," "Approaching the Divine in a World of Fantasy," highlighting Chagall's lyrical style and unique symbolic system in depth.

In particular, major Chagall works from the "Strabag Collection" owned by Hans-Peter Haselsteiner, a prominent collector from Austria, will be unveiled for the first time in Korea, drawing attention from the art world.

Choi Rak-gi, CEO of the Jeonju Cultural Foundation, stated, "Encountering the artistic world of the global master Chagall in the most Korean city of Jeonju will be a very meaningful experience," and expressed hope that "this exhibition will reaffirm the value of cultural exchange between France and Korea and provide an opportunity for citizens to enjoy high-quality cultural experiences."

Tickets can be purchased in advance through the online ticketing platform 'Ticketlink' or on-site. The admission fee is 12,000 won for adults, 10,000 won for teenagers, and 8,000 won for children.
