An exhibition featuring the stories of female artists who have picked up their brushes again after a creative hiatus will be held at an art space in Seohak-dong, Jeonju.

The Seohak-dong Photo Art Museum in Jeonju will host the planned special exhibition 'Twelve Paths - Gathering Light in Time' from the 10th to the 22nd.

Organized and sponsored by Art Empathy Fulfillment (represented by Go Bo-yeon), this exhibition sheds light on the artistic world of female artists who have stood back on the path of creation after experiencing a turning point in their lives. On the 14th during the exhibition period, there will also be a 'Conversation with the Artists' program where participating artists will engage directly with visitors.

Fourteen artists including Go Na-young, Gu Seong-ha, Kwon Jae-hee, Kim Sang-mi, Park Hyun-min, Moon Gwi-hwa, Lee Soo-ae, Eom Jin-a, Joo Eun-young, Jung Hyun-joo, Choi Min-young, Choi Seon-joo, Choi Hwa-young, and Hwang Mi-ran are participating in this exhibition.

The works that have resumed after a pause in the creative time each artist had to momentarily halt in their lives have come together in one place. While these artists have built their own unique artistic worlds starting with graduation or their first exhibitions, the realities of life have often demanded different choices.

In particular, female artists frequently have to pause their work during important life processes such as health issues, pregnancy and childbirth, childcare, and family care. In the reality where livelihood and family take precedence, creativity can easily be pushed aside, and moments may come when they feel that their dream as an artist is drifting away as time passes. Such experiences are common not only among emerging artists but also among middle-aged and older artists.

Go Bo-yeon, the representative who planned the exhibition, said, "For female artists, work, health, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare may sometimes feel like dilemmas, but that time was never a break, it was a process of gathering light while taking a deep breath," and expressed hope that the experiences accumulated in life will lead to new artistic worlds.

The exhibition 'Twelve Paths - Gathering Light in Time' marks the third year this year since it started as an inaugural exhibition at the Idang Art Museum in 2024 and 2025.

As the years go by, it is evaluated as a place that provides an opportunity for female artists who have experienced a creative hiatus to continue their work and as a space that supports ongoing artistic activities.

An art museum official said, "This exhibition is not just a simple presentation of artworks, but a time to reflect on the artists who never let go of their hearts for art even during various turning points in life," and expressed hope that it will be a small spark for artists who continue to create in difficult environments.
